The cooperative company "Société digitale des Eaux de Wallonie" was established in 2022.
Digit'Eaux is backed by three founding members :
• the Société Wallonne des Eaux (SWDE - Walloon Water Company),
• the Société Publique de Gestion de l’Eau (SPGE - Public Water Management Company)
• and the Coeur du Hainaut intercommunale de développement économique et d’aménagement (IDEA - Coeur du Hainaut intermunicipal agency for economic development and planning).
By pooling their expertise, they are becoming a driving force in the digital transformation of the Walloon water sector.
Digit'Eaux’s mission is to digitalise the water sector
The aim is to provide IT services for public bodies involved in the anthropic water cycle in the Walloon Region: from catchment area protection to wastewater treatment, as well as water production and distribution.
The public bodies are players in the digitalisation process
The SWDE and the SPGE, the two most important founding members, have decided to entrust all their IT activities to Digit’Eaux.
In addition to IDEA, as a founding member, other public bodies in the Walloon water sector, such as CILE (Liège intermunicipal water company), AIDE (intermunicipal association for the evacuation and treatment of water of the province of Liège), InBW (economic and environmental organisation in Walloon Brabant), IPALLE (intermunicipal association for environmental management in Picardy Wallonia (Western Hainaut) and South Hainaut) and IGRETEC (intermunicipal association active in the Charleroi and South Hainaut region) have joined Digit’Eaux as cooperators.
